I haven't been able to get into my blog for a long time. Papa helpped me. So now I hope I will be able to do this again and comment on all the delightful things you all write. Can hardly wait for Thanksgiving. We will have a house full. It will be so much fun. Remember when we all were at your mom's single wide one Christmas. That was a great time.

Home again. Golda's wedding was so great. See so many of us together. Only bad thing was Dale's car trou ble. Then the flat tire on the rental car. But we all made it to West Virging. Had a great time with Dale, Judy, Andrew, Rebecca and Jennifer, Callie and Maddie. Playing with Andrew's Wii was fun too. Going to Tidewater the restaurant Dale is General Manager was really great a beautiful place. Got to see our friend Gary on Sunday night when we got back to Charleston. He left on Monday for two weeks in Rumania on a teaching missions trip he takes each year. Nice seeing hime and his wife Sandra. We also got to see a friend that Papa had worked with in Charleston. We did cut our time short in WV so we could have time to go to Missouri and Kansas on the way home. Had a nice visit in Ohio with Dean, Martha, Kimberly and Billy and His girl friend. Went to a birthday party for Martha's one year old nephew. There was a jumping thing and a clown for the kids, and plenty of spanish food. We had breakfast in Finday, OH with my brother Charlie , his wife Mary and daughter Cheryl. It was a one and a half hour drive for each of us. From Hilliard OH and Trenton, MI. We then drove to O'Fallon, MO for the night. We drove to Kansas City the next day and had a great visit with two of my cousins and two aunts. Spent the night with Ken and Marilyn V. friend from KU days. They drove us all over downtown KC showing us all the new develpment there. Papa had wanted to see the Sprint arena so he got to. Next day to Manhattan. KS to see Melissa and all. Had to stay longer than planned because Papa had left some of his medicine in O"Fallon at the motel. Then we were there for the really bad hail storm and got to see Betsy again as she got home the morning before we left. Really bad wind driving home , but we got here safe. Really a great trip and still tiring to get over it. Love to all

I have my new laptop on my desk in my computer/guest room. Yesterday papa hooked up a new keyboard and mouse that came with his new computer to my lap. I does make it easier to type. I have to have Brenda look at my laptop. She said something about maybe the touchpad was too sensitive. I kept loosing what I was typing. I hit some key that caused this and don't know which one it is. Papa had already a few weeks ago bought a one wireless keyboard and mouse. My cousins Sandy has been writing to me. And my cousins Joyce and Carol. Sandy is doing geneology of her family. She has a lot on my mother's family she is going to send to me. We have pictures too. Really old ones of my great grandparents. Daddy had some in his stuff he had never given to us. Papa and I have been scanning them and sending them to Sandy and Joyce. Sandy sends them on to Carol. Sandy is going to send a disk with the info she has. She is the daughter of my mother's older sister Frances. Joyce and Carol's mother was the fouth sister. It has been really fun. I hope they will get on the blog. Had snow on Monday night. Gone by noon on Tuesday. To be in the 60's today and get cold againg for two days. The fun of Texas. Keep writing everyone I miss it when you are to busy. My old computer just died. It was 14 years old and had been update several times. Papa has his old one, 7 years old, on this desk with his new one. It is taking a while to get everything one the new one like he wants. He has gotten a flash drive so we can bring pictures to you all at Golda and Jeremy's wedding. It is really nice. Sandy has sent a lot of death cerificates and marriage licenses of past family. Really is great to see them. Love to all of you.

This is an answer about my cousins in December. Do I remember all their names? Let's see!
Aunt Frances and Uncle Clyde Phelps had four children. Roger, Ronnie, Richard and Sandra all younger than me. All my cousins on mother's side are younger. Aunt Ethel and Uncle Carl Eklund had two boys - Jerry and David. Aunt Ella Dora and Uncle Joe Crowley had two girls -- Joyce and Carol. Aunt Betty and Uncle Russell Fowler have three boys - Russell (Rusty) Jimmy and Stephan. Aunt Eva and Bill Lundberg had three boys - Gary, John and Kenny. Aunt Donna and Uncle Bill Pedan had three boys - Billy, Craig and Bruce (decreased). Aunt Rose and Uncle Johnny and one son Tommy and Rose has four children from a previous marriage. Cheryl, James and ? And lots of my cousins have children. See I could remember better than Brenda thought. Cousins on the Hundley side. Aunt Juanite and Uncle Louis Manford had four children - Marion, (deceased) Louis (Buddy)(deceased), Dona Ruth and Donald (deceased). Aunt Ruth and Uncle Marvin O'Neal had three boys Marvin, Jr. , Jimmy and Charles. So here they all are.

I have been trying to read all the old blogs that I had not read for a few weeks. I have a new laptop papa gave me for an early valentines gift. I am having to get used to the new key board and everything. Brenda told me to practice using the touchpad by playing games. So I am trying to do that. I just got finished reading Golda's blogs. I kept losing them. It was very fustrating. I did change my background picture from papa to Shane and Logan. How I need to get the other great grand kids pictures on the computer so I can put them on also. Papa is busy today changing data from his old computer to the new one. He is doing this is windows vista. It is taking a long time. I sent some 2-mail to Melissa's and 2 of my cousins and sent them all twice by mistake. The touchpad is so sensitive. Hi everyone. Hope this finds you all well and doing great. Well Christmas is almost here. Melissa and everyone freezing and lots of snow. We have had some cold mornings and will be back up in the 50's and 60's this week. My flowers are still blooming in the pots next to be door. I bought some pansies to put in the pots when the petunia's die but don't know if they will. May have to put the pansies somewhere else. Brenda and Lester were here Saturday and we had a good time baking a receipe she had from school. It was great and easy. The best kind. Love you all.

We are going to a movie. Melissa gave us this idea when we visited them for Thanksgiving in 2005. Can you believe this much time has gone by. We bought a butter ball turkey that is already cooked. It was on sale for ten dollars. They said this was thirteen less than normal. Hope it is good. Brenda and Lester might get some left overs if they get back from Tennessee soon enought. Well I have not been on to write mush lately. Brenda and Lester are going to stay with us for a day or two, while their RV is worked on. Will be fun. We like having them here. Lester is doing better, but tires easily. Melissa what did the boys dress like for Holloween? What did Jennifers girls dress like? Papa took a short lunch so he could come home early to give out candy. We ran out again this year. We had some cute and sweet and O MY costumes. Papa said one little girls about three years old thanked him for not having a scary house. One little boy about seven liked our flower garden. We have white petunias in large pot 3 stacked up the bottoms still have lots of flowers. The flowers in the top pots died in August, the were (impatianes ?). So I put the little cheap plastic pumkins you get for about one dollar on the top pots and filled them with silk fall flowers and leaves. I also put fall lead garlands thought the white petunias. Will change them for Christmas and put lights through them like I did last year. We are going to Golden Coral with Brenda and Lester tonight. They give a free mail to Veterans on the Monday night after Veterans which is Betsy's birthday too. Now that I have read everyone's blogs will now go back and write a comment. Love you all. Hi to everyone. I have just finished reading all the blogs I haven't seen before. Some I couldn't get for some reason. Now it is better. Dean was here for one day. He came to Dallas to a meeting. Brenda came for dinner but Lester didn't feel up to coming. It is always good to hear about all your days good and bad. This summer did go fast. As has the two years in Texas. We do miss all of you. Hope we can visit you all soon or you can come here. Papa will be 75 on September 24th. Where has all the years gone. At least we have good health for people in their 70's. So we are thankful. Been busy here. I refinished my table top as we had gotten some damage from mositure I guess. The table did not have a very good finish. I painted the top black three coats of paint and five coats of rub on poly. It looks great, but I forgot to do the leaf. Will do it some time soon. Brenda and Lester stayed with us for a few days while their 5ht wheel was being repaired. It was nice for us. Thought they were going to stay after Lester's surgery Tuesday but they have decided to stay at home. We enjoyed getting to see Golda and Jeremey this weekend while they were here for a friends wedding. Got to see them twice. While Papa just got up he slept 11 hours. So I need to feed him now. Love to all. O Becca, Gold said you have some pictures on the blog of you, but I don't have them.

Update on the update. I was alright for about 2days. Then I kept getting error in my security. PaPa thought he had found how to use my blog. But then it stopped recognizing my blog name and password. Papa findly discovered it was my clock not working right. When I turned off my computer the clock turned off. Then the next time I used it the time was always wrong. The problem was a small battery about the size of a nickle. With the new battery everything works great.

I am back! I haven't been able to or write in my blog. Since April when we got back from Kansas. So I now have to read everything that was written since then. First of all Melissa, so you liked those little things. Did you find the one in the refrigerator? Rebecca thanks for wishing me happy MD. Papa fixed my blogger. Brenda tried yesterday but couldn't. We are back. Had great time and saw friends we had not seen in years. Not very many went only 106. We did a lot of walking around campus. Has grown so very much. Had a great time at Melissa's. Went shopping, had a picnic and played miniature golf and went with boys to get their hair cut. Melissa cut about two inches off my hair and did my hair up before we left her house the morning before the big event. Time went too fast. Love you all.

It is now February and we are great. Nothing much happening. Papa is working about five days a week right now. Looking forward to spring. We are going to papa's 50th college reunion in April at Lawrence. He is really looking forward to this. Time just goes don't know where thought. Have been reading a lot. Need to slow down, using up too many of the books we got a the library sale to fast. Been making more cookies and bread to keep busy. We are having a missionary at our house for an evening so people can spend more time when them, than we get at a church service or dinner. So I get to make some goodies for that too. Love you all I heard some one got some roses sent to her. Great!

Hi, everyone. Brenda and Lester were here for dinner and we played Quad-Ominos. It is a lot of fun. I always lose. Papa won from the last time we played. We will continue this game when they come over next time. Her arm is working great now. Melissa I made the bread this morning before church. I look at the different ways to make it you sent. I look at what I had to use. I used 12 oz of orange juice and some dried cherries a chopped up. It was really good. I had some strawberry sparkling juice I forgot to use Christmas I didn't like it very much so I may use it in the bread next time. Also, Papa sprang his ankle at work Friday, but didn't know he had done it until he was at home. I put the bean bag Melissa made a few Christmases ago. The smaller one on his ankle. It has worked really good. He is getting better. He doesn't go to work until Tuesday night. So he should be doing good then. Just everyone is back to normal now after all the fun days. Great to have Judy writing. That sound's like a great weekend. Not surprised Dale has to work. Brenda and Lester are doing a chili cookoff for New Years weekend. They did that last year and had a great time. Papa just got home from work. He has Sunday, New Years Eve off, then works Monday four hours. We usually do not do anything at night on New Years Eve. Don't like to be on the roads. Will go out to eat after church. Took down the Christmas decorations this morning and it looks naked. I always think that. Everyone have a great weekend. We are glad everyone had a nice Christmas. Even though we miss everyone we had a nice day. Brenda and Lester came for breakfast. We opened gifts then had breakfast. Got a ham into the oven and then we played games. The who-What-why phrase game - Who knew? Brenda gave us when she came to Florida for Christmas with Golda and Allie several years back. Would you believe I was better than Brenda? She thought about the answer too much. Then we played quad-ominos. A game we had for many years. We stopped for dinner and then played until 7:00. It is all papa's fault we can't go to Melissa's. The VA made an appointment for a stress test on the 28th. I need to be here for that. He is not having any problems. This is something they think needs to be done once in awhile. Bummer! But your mom may not be able to drive either. I asked her Monday night when they came for dinner (Lester had gotten some home made tamalies at work from someone, they were really good.) What she did a therapy and she showed me. I was really surprised how little she can use her hand and she said it was a lot better. She was to go back to work today. So we stay at home and who knows what we will do. Well thanksgiving is over. We had a nice time. Lester fried the turkey, it was great. We ate too much. Golda inspired me to make a jello salad and I was the only one that ate it. Oh well I loved it. I don't like cranberries and the jello makes a nice subsitute. Did a little Christmas decorating on Friday. Papa had to work from 10 am to 7 pm. So I had a lot of time to do things. Thanksgiving! Our plans changed for the better. Brenda and Lester are not going to Melissa's now because of her accident. Lester is frying a turkey and I am making the side dishes. They are coming to our house to eat. I am making green bean casserole, cranberry sauce, home made noodles, dressing and sweet potatoes with marshmellows, also pumpkin pie and banana pudding. Then they are going to Lester's family for fun and games.

Monday evening went to the Mall in Mesquite just to look around and waste time. We were going to go to Golden Corrall for dinner. Read Judy's blog to read about that. Afterwards we went to Garden Ridge to look around. That is a store that has lots of things. Housewares, pictures, silk flowers, etc., some furniture and Decorations and Christmas decorations. I like to walk through the decorations enjoying them. Touching them and not having to put them up at home. It is always fun. We do just a little decorating. I thought it was crazy when my mother and daddy stopped doing much decorations. Now we are just like them. Getting old I guest is the problem. Papa at work now. We actually are getting some rain today. This is our day to water so we don't have to. Answer to prayers. Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming too quickly. It doesn't seem time for it. This is my front door. See our golf sign someone really great made for us. I have decorated my flower pot for fall and halloween. I put lights around the pots and in the jack-o-lanterns. Took picture at night and looks like they are on fire. Will not post those.

Here is a really easy one lemon bars. 1 box angel food cake mix used dry (1 step only cake mixes - these can be hard to find somtimes) 1 can lemon pie filling. Mix together and Pour into a greased and floured jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 -30 minutes. Frost with powered sugar or cream cheese frosting. Always preheat your oven for all receipes.
You can try the other cake recipes using different cake mixes and pie fillings. Also, you can use 2 cake mixes and put into a jelly roll pan for bar cakes. I have used 2 white of yellow cake mixes with 1 cup peanut butter and baked in a jelly roll pan iced with powered sugar icing that I added a little of peanut butter with it. Use your imagine. Here is another easy cake to make. Much like the other one, I have had this receipe for many years. I use a dark chocolate cake mix dry, 2 large eggs, 1 can cherry pie filling. Mix together and pour into a greased jelly rool pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes. Icing:
1 1/2 cup sugar, 6 Tablespoons butter, 6 Tablespoon milk. In sauce pan boil for one minute only. Remove from heat and add 1 cup chocolate chips. Whipping cream or cool whip is good for both of these cakes or use canned icing.

Here is the cake I told Melissa about Sunday. Your mother and Lester was here for dinner, we get to have them pretty often. She ate two pieces before going home. This is rare for her. As she does not eat very much. But she ate really good yesterday. I love her. 1 pkg German chocolate cake mix. The one a got had pudding in it and worked fine. Use the cake mix dry and mix in 3 large eggs then add 1 can apple pie filling and mix well. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 -50 minutes. Since your mother like it so much I figured it was really good. They said so too. I sure
Thank You pie filling because it is a good one, but I think a less expensive brand might be easier to mix. I will try one next time. I tried this on Brenda and Lester because I wanted to take it to church some time if it was good. So I will.

There is a great apple and pumkin pie receipe in Melissa's cook book on page 34. Here is one of my favorite apple pies because it is so easy.

Impossible French apple pie

3 cups apples peeled, sliced, and cored, 1/2 cup Bisquick, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 1 tablespoon butter softened, 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg, 2 eggs

Bake 350 degrees. Grease 1o inch pie plate. Make topping first. Then put apples in pie plate. If you have a blender or food processor mix the other ingredients in it for about one minute. If not mix in a bowl until blended. Pour over apples. Sprinkle topping over mixture. Bake 40 to 50 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Cool pie or cool until just warm.

Topping: 1/2 cup Bisquick (I have used Jiffy baking mix too -- it cost less) 1/4 cup chopped nuts, 1/4 cup packed brown sugar, 2 Tablespoons firm butter. Mix Bisquick, nuts and brown sugar. Cut in butter with a fork, knives or pastry blender ( these are great) until crumbly.

Substitute 2 cans 16 0z sliced peaches, well drained or 3 cups fresh peaches.

Hi! To all of you that I love so much! First Golda, Great on the job. I think you should like doing this kind of work. It will probably get more interesting as you do other things. At least you are getting to travel and see friends. Melissa, Great on your Algegra class. Will other classes be over as short a time? Well I have been working on the walls of pictures a lot lately. Have covered a little more than half way down the walls. Got a lot of frames at Dollar Tree got some 16 x 20 poster frames and bought four of them to make collages and used a lot of Papa's frames that had all of his profressional engineering licenses from all the states he had them in. He has only licenses in Kansas, Ohio and Florida now. He likes his job at Lowe's. He is in the plumbing department. He works three days a week between 4 - 8 hours depending on how busy there are. Right now he is working only 4 hours most days. Betsy what ate you up to now, did you go back to your job? Have you gotten Casey's holloween custom yet? Allie how are you doing? Hope I will do this more? Love to all of you and miss you so much.
